Filatov's Top Pair Holds

Level 18 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Chin Wei Lim raised to 900,000 from under the gun with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was called by Anatoly Filatov on the button with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind with {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Vogelsang checked to Lim who bet 1,250,000 with air. Filatov just called on the button with his top pair and Vogelsang laid his hand down.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and both players checked to the {3-Hearts} on the river. Lim counted out a bet of 2,600,000 and Fialtov quickly called. Lim's pair of nines was not enough to overcome the pair of kings from Filatov.

Two hands later, Thorel raised to 1,000,000 from the button with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Christoph Vogelsang called in the small blind with {7-Spades}{6-Spades}. The flop came {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Vogelsang checked and Thorel bet 600,000. Vogelsang took some time and then made the call. The turn brought them the {9-Clubs}. Vogelsang checked again and Thorel fired a bet of 1,200,000 without hesitating. Vogelsang shoved for 9,255,000 after contemplating his options. Chin Wei Lim raised it up to 900,000 from under the gun with {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Christoph Vogelsang defended from the big blind with {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The flop fell {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Vogelsang checked to Lim who continued for 700,000. Vogelsang check-raised to 2,400,000 and Lim just called.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and Vogelsang made two pair but he was already drawing dead to Lim's set of sixes. Vogelsang checked again and Lim reached for a bet of 4,800,000. Vogelsang check-raised all in and Lim instantly called off his stack of 16,110,000.

The insignificant {7-Hearts} completed the board and Lim double up into the chip lead.

Thorel Wins the Blind vs Blind Battle

Level 18 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel picked up {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} in the small blind and completed. Christoph Vogelsang raised to 1,400,000 in the big blind holding {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for Vogelsang to hit bottom pair but keep Thorel ahead. Thorel checked and Vogelsang continued with a bet of 800,000 which was called.

The turn brought them the {10-Hearts} which didn't change anything. Thorel quickly checked and Vogelsang did the same.

The river completed the board with the {k-Spades} to pair the board up. Thorel bet 2,000,000 without any hesitation. Vogelsang looked at the board, glanced at Thorel, contemplated his options, said he had deuces, grimaced, called, and then mucked when he saw Thorel's pocket fours.

"Nice value bet! Police!" Anatoly Filatov commented, referencing Thorel's hat.

Thorel laughed: "Police! Be careful..."

Lim Takes From Thorel

Level 17 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 600,000 from the hijack with {k-Spades}{j-Spades}, Chin Wei Lim picked up {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on the button and three-bet to 1,650,000. Thorel looked at his cards once more before making the call.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} with the ace in the window. Lim hit top pair but Thorel had a gutshot to a Broadway.

They both checked through to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn for Thorel to hit a pair. Thorel bet 2,000,000, Lim took a few seconds and then made the call.

The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds} to secure the pot for Lim. Thorel check-called the 3,100,000 bet of Lim and then paid up as he saw Lim was good with two pair, aces and treys.

Anatoly Filatov raised it up to 650,000 from the cutoff with {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and was called by Christoph Vogelsang in the small blind with {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Chin Wei Lim in the big blind with {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.
