Mateos Starts Well

Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos ended the day with a chip stack of double average and already added on to that after winning a small pot at the start of Day 2.

Mateos opened from the hijack with a raise to 175,000 and he was called by chip leader Timothy Adams from the button and Wai Leong Chan from the big blind.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts} and all three players checked. They also checked on the {Q-Hearts} turn and the {K-Hearts} river landed on the board.

Chan and Mateos checked to Adams who put in a bet of 320,000. Chan folded but Mateos was quick with the call. Adams opened up {9-}{9-}, but that was no good against Mateos' {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.
