Feature Table: Adams Doubles Through Speranza

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

There was over 1,300,000 in the middle already and the board read {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Timothy Adams: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Gianluca Speranza: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

After they had both checked through the turn, Speranza checked in the big blind on the river and Adams bet 900,000 from the hijack. Speranza shoved, having Adams covered, Adams tanked holding the winning hand with the turned trip kings. Adams counted out his chips and then decided to put his tournament life at risk by calling after considering it for about three minutes. Adams doubled up for the 4,760,000 he had behind.

The Defending Champion Departs

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell moved all in for around 1,200,000 and Fabrizio Gonzalez called out of the blinds to create the following showdown.

Niall Farrell: {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Fabrizio Gonzalez: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board came {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} left the defending champion drawing dead on the turn and Gonzalez rivered the nut straight for good measure to deal the final blow.

One table was still active right before the three-table redraw. Michael Addamo had defended against Rainer Kempe and check-called a bet of 500,000 on the {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. On the {Q-Hearts} turn, both players checked and Addamo bet the {J-Clubs} river for 700,000, one third of the pot. Kempe eventually called and mucked when Addamo rolled over the {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush.

Badziakouski Pushing Stacks

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Winfred Yu raised to 350,000 from under the gun and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel in the small blind and Mikita Badziakouski in the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the action checked to Yu who continued for 325,000. Thorel check-raised to 800,000 and Badziakouski flat-called while Yu folded.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and both players checked to the {4-Clubs} on the river. Thorel checked again and Badziakouski announced a bet of 2,800,000. He pushed stacks of chips forward to equal the bet and Thorel leaned back in his chair with his hand covering his face. He thought for a few seconds but then slid his cards to the muck, sending the pot to Badziakouski.

Feature Table: Sekularac Eliminated by Speranza

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Ognjen Sekularac
Ognjen Sekularac

Christian Rudolph raised to 250,000 from the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, Ognjen Sekularac called in the small blind with {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} and so did Gianluca Speranza in the big blind with {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The flop came {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, both Sekularac and Speranza checked. Rudolph continued with a bet of 275,000 which they both called.

The turn brought them the {10-Clubs} which gave both Speranza and Rudolph the gutshot to a straight but Sekularac was still ahead with the pair of kings. Sekularac bet 390,000, Speranza called after contemplating for a while but Rudolph folded.

The {6-Hearts} on the river gave Speranze trip sixes to jump ahead of Sekularac's pair of kings. Sekularac bet 520,000 which sent Speranza into the tank. Speranza responded with a shove to put Sekularac at risk. Sekularac counted his stack, tanked a bit longer, and then decided to make the call after tanking for a bit more than three minutes. Sekularac quickly left the stage when he saw he was beat and Speranza calmly stacked up his new chips.
