Lewis Doubles Again

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Romain Lewis limped in from the small blind with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Oleg Pavlyuchuk raised to 230,000 in the big blind with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Lewis three-bet the pot to 690,000 and Pavlyuchuk moved all in. Lewis called off his stack of around 1,200,000 and the cards were on their backs.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} giving Lewis a set of aces and the nut flush draw. Pavlyuchuk would need runner-runner but the {4-Diamonds} on the turn sealed the deal as Lewis made the nut flush. The {8-Spades} on the river was insignificant and Lewis scored a full double up.

Tarek Sleiman Eliminated in 5th Place (€12,802)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Tarek Sleiman
Tarek Sleiman

After the failed blocker play, Tarek Sleiman folded one more hand before being all in for just 30,000 with {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Romain Lewis called with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Oleg Pavlyuchuk got in for free with {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{X-}.

Lewis and Pavlyuchuk checked {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} down to the river. Lewis then bet 80,000 with his kings up, Pavlyuchuk folded, and Lewis won from Sleiman to eliminate the latter in 5th place.

Sleiman Sitting on Crumbs

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Tarek Sleiman
Tarek Sleiman

Oleg Pavlyuchuk raised it up to 225,000 in the cutoff with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Tarek Sleiman called on the button with {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Pavlyuchuk check-called a bet of 250,000 from Sleiman.

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and both players checked to the {j-Spades} on the river. Pavlyuchuk led out for 350,000 and Sleiman shipped all in for over 1,400,000. Pavlyuchuk snap-called with the nut straight and scored a double up through Sleiman.

Pavlyuchuk was the player at risk and after the chips were counted, Sleiman was left with less than one big blind and Pavlyuchuk moved into the chip lead.

Manish Goenka Eliminated in 6th Place (€9,313)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Manish Goenka
Manish Goenka

In the first of two hands, Manish Goenka raised from under the gun with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Hanh Tran called from the cutoff with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Both players checked the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop.

Goenka check-called 125,000 on the {3-Diamonds} turn and check-folded to a 250,000 bet on the {J-Spades} river to be left with 785,000.

Two hands later (while the blinds had moved up in between), Tran raised to 200,000 from under the gun with {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Goenka called from the small blind with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Tarek Sleiman called from the big blind with {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

The flop was {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Goenka moved all in for 505,000 with his top two pair. Sleiman folded and Tran called, albeit not being happy about it. The turn brought the {K-Spades} to give Tran a better two pair. The {6-Hearts} on the river was the last card Goenka would see in this tournament and the Rozvadov regular left the stage in 6th place.

Michael Magalashvili Eliminated in 7th Place (€6,896)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Michael Magalashvili
Michael Magalashvili

Michael Magalashvili opened to 210,000 with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Sebastian Obermeier three-bet to 600,000 with {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} on his left. The action folded back to Magalashvili who stuck in the rest of his chips for a total of 335,000 and the cards were tabled.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades} giving Magalashvili a pair of fives and a few outs. However, the {K-Spades} on the turn improved Obermeier to a set of kings and Magalashvili was drawing dead to the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

The first and second bracelet of the series went to Israel but the country won't go three for three as Magalashvili was the last Israeli standing. He received €6,896 for his seventh-place finish.

Romain Lewis
Romain Lewis

Michael Magalashvili opened to 150,000 with {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} on the button and Romain Lewis raised the pot to 480,000 in the big blind with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The action was back on Magalashvili who shoved all in and Lewis called off his last 665,000 chips.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} which gave Magalashvili a wrap. The {3-Spades} on the turn was a good card for Lewis' pocket aces and the {6-Spades} on the river secured the double up for Lewis.

Florian Sarnow Eliminated in 8th Place (€5,198)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Florian Sarnow
Florian Sarnow

Romain Lewis limped in on the button with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Florian Sarnow came along from the small blind with {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Oleg Pavlyuchuk checked his option with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and the flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Sarnow checked to Pavlyuchuk who tossed in a bet, Lewis folded, and Sarnow stuck in his remaining 165,000 chips. Pavlyuchuk called and the cards were on their backs. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn gave Sarnow two pair but was still drawing slim to Pavlyuchuk's set of jacks. The river was the {k-Hearts} and Sarnow was sent to the rail in eighth place.

Sarnow started the day on little sleep after finishing second in last night's Event #4: €1,100 Turbo Bounty Hunter. That tournament concluded at 6 a.m. this morning. Sarnow added the 8th place price of €5,198 on top of the €37,678 he won a few hours earlier.
