Hansen Evokes Memories of 'Rounders'

Level 17 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 675,000 on the button. Gus Hansen defended his big blind.

The flop and turn of {j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} were checked by both players and the river brought the {j-Hearts}. Hansen checked for a third time and Vogelsang bet 550,000.

Hansen then nonchalantly threw out a slew of T-100,000 value chips and check-raised to 1.8m. Vogelsang thought before folding.

"He checked three times!" said Carrel to Vogelsang in amazement.

"I saw it in Rounders," said Hansen as he took down the pot.
