Boeree and Griffin Clash in the Dying Seconds

The night was almost over, but not for Liv Boeree and Ashton Griffin. The latter was nowhere to be found, and Boeree explained what had happened on the third to last hand of the night.

Boeree raised to 1,200 with {A-}{K-} and Andrey Gulyy called in position. Griffin three-bet to 5,200 from the big blind after which only Boeree called. The flop brought out {K-}{9-}{6-} with one heart. Griffin bet 5,000, Boeree called.

On the turn the {A-Hearts} hit and Griffin moved all in for 25,000 chips. Boeree called with top two pair, and Griffin showed {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Boeree was close to ending the day as the chip leader, but the {10-Hearts} hit on the river. Griffin won a big pot, and left the tournament room.
