Don't Mess With Thorel

Jean Noel Thorel may come across as an old-school French poker player, but he is anything but. The multi-millionaire business does like to call down a lot, that's not all he is capable of though. At EPT Deuville a couple of season's ago he was witnessed six-bet bluffing pre flop against none other than Viktor Blom.

Thorel, Oliver Speidel, Mike McDonald and one other player all saw a limped flop of {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

McDonald led for 475 from the big blind and was called by Thorel in early position before Speidel check-raised to 1,300 from the small blind (the fourth player folded from the cut-off). McDonald folded and Thorel called.

No more chips made it into the middle as the two remaining players checked the {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} turn and river down. Speidel, the Aussie Millions Main Event Champ from this year, opened {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for queen high and lost out to the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} of his opponent.
