"I don't play like you guys, I like to win tournaments," Phil Hellmuth commented just now. "I used to play nine-ten suited, then I started folding it and started winning."
"I'm going to final table this tournament," he added. "That's what I do at the World Series; I make final tables and I win tournaments."
Chance Kornuth and John Monnette were all in on the turn with the board reading . Monnette held the to Kornuth's . With Kornuth drawing dead, the river completed the board with the and he was eliminated.
After Kornuth went off to the payout desk, Phil Hellmuth had more to say.
"Here we go, now the crazy guys are more effective," he said. "The way you guys see the world is more in sync now," he continued as the whole table laughed.
Then, a few moments passed before the next hand started up and Hellmuth said, "Here they come! Now we let 'em go! Now we take the leash off! I still know exactly what to do, though. Maybe I won't win a pot, maybe i will."
Phil Hellmuth moved all in over the top of a raise and Philippe Boucher reraised all in to get heads up. Hellmuth showed the and was dominating the .
When the came out in the window, Hellmuth shot out of his chair. It was followed by the and , though, to give Hellmuth a Broadway straight.
Boucher began to count out chips from his stack to send over to Hellmuth, but then the landed on the turn and gave him a chop. Boucher began jumping up and down around the table, cheering with joy as he just came back to chop the pot with Hellmuth. Hellmuth was walking going the table with a different demeanor, sulking and ranting.
"This guy just shipped 100 dimes with ace-queen after I moved in for the first time in 10 hours!" yelled out Hellmuth.
"You have 10 big blinds!" responded Boucher.
"Oh yeah, there's always a reason. Always a reason against me," came back Hellmuth.
Another few moments passed before, "Damn!" Hellmuth exclaimed. "Is this for real?!?!" he continued as he ventured around by pacing.
Hellmuth then returned to his chair and began talking out loud to himself. "What am I talking about? This happens everyday; everyday at the World Series they just try to give me their money!"
Hellmuth then began to collect himself. "What am I talking about? It's time to win!"
For the past several minutes, the headphones have come out of Phil Hellmuth's ears and he's been ranting away again. According to Hellmuth, he's in "hyper-focus mode," and he says that goes along with his "white magic" that he always talks about possessing.
Just now, his friend Brandon Cantu came to check in on him. Hellmuth wandered over to the rail and complained a little bit about the play at his table before saying, ""I feel like a machine right now, I know exactly what I'm gonna do!" and then walking back to his table.
Mohsin Charania was all in with the against Giovanni Rosadoni's . The flop, turn and river ran out to give Charania the double up. he was all in for 37,600.
From middle position, Valentin Messina raised to 4,400. Oleksii Kovalchuk reraised from the small blind to 10,100 before Messina shoved all in for 42,900. Kovalchuk snapped with the . Messina held the .
"How many f***ing times you gonna get aces?" said John Duthie, citing the fact that Kovalchuk has had them many, many times today.
Those aces wouldn't hold, though, as the board ran out to give Messina quads. He doubled on the second time we've seen quads today.
