Michel Abecassis is eliminated

"Are you getting tired of that name yet?" Michael Mizrachi just said jokingly to the announcer after he had raised to 11,000 under the gun. Joe Hachem laughed but folded, and Ville Mattila called.

Michel Abecassis was in the small blind and he moved all in for 48,500. Mizrachi called from the big blind, and the action was back on Mattila.

"I raise pot," Mattila said and slowly but surely he put out a four-bet to 199,000.

"Don't shake now, put it out right," Mizrachi said with a smile as Mattila was struggling a little bit with his chips.

"The staff wants to go home early," Mizrachi added as he decided to make the call after about 30 seconds.

"Big pot," was Mattila's response as Abecassis was awaiting his fate.

The flop brought out {10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Mizrachi moved all in right away. Mattila had 89,500 chips left behind and called creating a massive pot worth 622,500 chips.

Showdown:
Ville Mattila: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Michael Mizrachi: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Michel Abecassis: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Mizrachi was looking for help in order to bust two players, but the turn was no good for him. The {A-Diamonds} came off and Mattila hit his set. The river brought the {8-Hearts} and Mattila took a massive chip lead while Abecassis was eliminated.

The Ten-Minute Hand

Michael Mizrachi - Master of Table Talk
Michael Mizrachi - Master of Table Talk

Michel Abecassis opened to 10,000 and Michael Mizrachi, fresh off of winning three hands in a row, decided to three-bet to 37,500. Abecassis called and the flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Abecassis checked and Mizrachi announced a bet of the pot. Mizrachi moved 82,500 into the middle but saw that this bet had his opponent covered. Mizrachi then pulled it back and put in 64,500, or the exact amount of Abecassis' stack.

Two minutes passed.

"This might be the stupidest call," Abecassis said.

"That's OK," replied Mizrachi. "I've done a lot of stupid things in my life."

"Like what?" asked Abecassis.

"I started playing poker," said Mizrachi in reply. "You know what the stupidest thing I've ever done in poker is? The flop came ace of clubs, jack of clubs, ten of diamonds, and I bet 82.5k."

The table let out a laugh at this statement. Another minute or so passed.

"I'll lay you 2 to 1 he folds," Mizrachi said to the table.

"Well, I might fold," said Abecassis. This was met with more laughter.

More time passed.

"Alright," said Mizrachi. "Do you want the rewind?" Mizrachi then proceeded to list off every action in the hand to a tee, from the preflop raise and three-bet to his pot sized bet on the flop which he then retracted to move in the exact amount of Abecassis' stack.

Another moment passed before Abecassis finally let go of his cards, awarding Mizrachi his fourth pot in a row.

Hachem Hurting

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

Joe Hachem raised to 10,000 and Roger Hairabedian called from the big blind. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and both players checked.

On the turn the {7-Diamonds} hit and Hairabedian checked again. Hachem threw out 15,000 and the Frenchman called.

The river brought the {4-Spades} and all of a sudden Hairabedian lead out for 25,000. Hachem announced call after which Hairabedian turned over {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and that beat Hachem's {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Nevanlinna Drops Some More

Michael Mizrachi raised to 10,000 and Jussi Nevanlinna called. The flop came down {J-Clubs}[4s}{5-Spades} and both players checked.

On the turn the {K-Diamonds} hit and Mizrachi bet pot, 27,500. Nevanlinna took his time, but eventually called. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Mizrachi showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} and his two pair was enough to take down the pot.

Mizrachi Doubles Through Nevanlinna; Seizes Chip Lead

Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi raised to 10,000 and Jussi Nevanlinna called from next door. The rest of the table folded and the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Mizrachi checked and Nevanlinna bet 15,000. Mizrachi made it 45,000 to go and Nevanlinna three-bet all in.

The word "call" could not come out of Mizrachi's mouth fast enough as he tabled {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for top set and the second nut diamond draw. Nevanlinna showed {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for the nut diamond draw and was in dire need of help to send Mizrachi home.

The turn was a diamond, filling up Nevanlinna's flush. Unfortunately for Nevanlinna, it was the {9-Diamonds}, which paired the board and gave Mizrachi a full house of queens full of nines. The board finished with the {2-Hearts} and Mizrachi was able to score a key double up which catapulted him into the top chip position. Nevanlinna, who was our chip leader, has severely fallen due to this massive hit.

Another Loss For Mizrachi

Joe Hachem just raised to 10,500 and three players called. The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Michael Mizrachi lead out for 20,000 from the small blind. Jussi Nevanlinna folded from the big blind and Hachem kicked them in as well.

Roger Hairabedian was seated on the button and he called. The turn brought the {10-Spades} and Mizrachi checked. Hairabedian gave it some thought before betting 71,000. Mizrachi folded his cards and dropped some more chips.
