Kitai Makes the Right Decision

A player in early position opened for 125 and received a call from the hijack. A short-stacked Davidi Kitai, who won a big tournament in Berlin back in April for €712,000, then three-bet to 275 from the big blind, which only the hijack called. The latter proceeded to call a bet of 100 from Kitai on the {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, and then bet 1,000 out of turn on the {8-Diamonds} turn.

The floor was called and said that action was on Kitai, but that if he checked the bet would stand. Kitai only had 850 remaining, and he seemed amused by the situation. He thought long and hard before tossing out a small bet of 50, but it didn't slow the hijack down as he still bet 1,000. The rest of the table laughed, as did Kitai, but the man from Brussels had a decision to make. He thought long and hard before folding {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} face up, and it proved to be a good fold as the hijack flashed the {J-Diamonds}.
