Kings for Bollengier

Antonin Teisseire raised to 20,000 from middle position and received a call from Remi Bollengier. The rest of the field got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop, which Teisseire bet to the tune of 17,000. Bollengier called and then called a bet of 31,000 on the {3-Spades} turn before both players checked the {10-Spades} river.

Teisseire tabled {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a rivered pair of tens, but it was no good against the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} of Bollengier.

"Everybody's Trying to Steal From Everybody"

Action folded around to Ashly Butler on the button and he raised to 20,000. McLean Karr then put in a three-bet to 49,000 from the small blind, and Antonio Esfandiari opted to move all in from the big. Butler double checked his cards before folding, and Karr followed suit.

"Everybody's trying to steal from everybody," Esfandiari said with a smile as the dealer pushed him the pot.

Jamel Haddad Eliminated in 8th Place (€14,736)

Jamel Haddad
Jamel Haddad

Salvatore Bonavena opened for 22,000 under the gun, and after another player had limped, Jamel Haddad moved all in for 165,000 from the small blind. Bonavena responded by moving all in himself, the limper folded, and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Bonavena: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Haddad: {A-Spades}{3-Spades}

Haddad must not have had a good feeling as he was up out of his seat and collecting his thing. The {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop wasn't particularly interesting, and the {7-Diamonds} turn meant Haddad needed an ace on the river to stay alive. The dealer burned one last and revealed the {9-Hearts}, putting an end to Haddad's day in eighth place for €14,736.

"Oh Wow, I Got It in Good"

Action folded around to McLean Karr in the cutoff and he raised to 16,000. His good friend, Antonio Esfandiari, then three-bet to 34,000 from the big blind, inspiring both blinds to get out of the way. Karr responded by moving all in for 98,000, and after about a minute's worth of thought, Esfandiari made the call.

Showdown
Esfandiari: {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Karr: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

"Oh wow, I got it in good," Karr said upon seeing Esfandiari's hand. The rail leaned in close as the dealer put down the flop... {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}, a blank for Esfandiari. The {9-Hearts} turn wasn't anything exciting, and while the river was paint, it was the harmless {K-Spades}. With that, Karr doubled through the WSOP's all-time money leader.

Florian Ciuro Eliminated in 9th Place (€11,707)

Florian Ciuro
Florian Ciuro

Remi Bollengier raised to 16,000 from middle position and received a call from Florian Ciuro directly to his left. The rest of the field got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop. Bollengier led out for 22,000 and then snap-called when Ciuro moved all in.

Showdown
Bollengier: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Ciuro: {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Bollengier was ahead, but Ciuro was drawing live to either a king, queen or ten. Unfortunately for him, neither the {2-Hearts} turn nor {5-Spades} river were what he needed and he became the first casualty of the final table.
