Drumming Up a Double

Over on the featured table, we heard Michael Drummond shove all in for 253,000, and big stack Dermot Blain tanked and made the call with a chance at the knockout. He was ahead, but Drummond was drawing live for the double.

When the dealer turned the flop up, the {9-Clubs} was visible in the door, but it came as part of a Drummond-pleasing {J-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {9-Spades} flop. The turn {Q-Clubs} improved him to the straight, and he only needed to dodge the three remaining tens to stay alive. The river was the {7-Clubs} , though, and Blain is forced to part with a chunk of his stack. It's tough to count over there, but he should still be over 1 million -- likely closer to 1.1 million.
