No Need to Move Far

Action table, or table of death? Whatever you want to call it, table Mahrenholz has been stirring up a storm of big pots and eliminations this level, and it's right by where I'm stationed so I'm not having to use many muscles to bring you the latest big pot.

Once the river was dealt we had a {10-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs} {7-Clubs} board. The player in the small blind checked to Willie Tann, who bet 6,700, which was about half his stack. The pot had well over 10,000 in there and after the call was made, Tann turned over {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}.

His opponent tapped the table with his hand and mucked his cards. A smiling Tann is up to 31,000 now.

Willie just gave me a blueberry muffin to chomp on as well, so it's a happy corner of the Empire right now.

Adam's Family

Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams seems to like a family battle. He keeps taking on fellow Full Tilt pros every time I wander past his table.

We heard about him forcing Patrik Antonius to lay down in a big pot earlier. Well news has reached me that he finished the job off a while later. Adams took another few thousand off the Finn in one pot, before calling a now short-stacked Antonius' all-in bet with {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}. Antonius had {A-Spades} {9-Spades} and when the board bricked out Antonius was busted.

Next up for Adams was a tussle with another short-stacked Full Tilt pro, namely the man who finds it hard not to cash, Nikolay Evdakov. It all went in preflop and Evdakov was dominating Adams with {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} versus {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds}.

The board ran {4-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} to double the Russian up to 16,000 and keep his hopes of yet another WSOP cash alive.

Mega Double-Up for Haxton

With the board reading {5-Spades} {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds}, Isaac Haxton is all in. The gentleman in seat nine now disappears into the tank for some minutes, his hands over his face. When he emerges from the tank, he calls, and mucks when Haxton turns over {8-Spades} {9-Spades}. There is some surprise at Haxton's hand from the the table, who seem to have been expecting a full house at least. Nevertheless, Haxton catapults up in the chip standings with around 65,000, while his opponent, his stack reduced to small change, made his exit soon after.

Blows Up and Out like a Portu-Geezer

Takes care of another
Takes care of another
We had three Portuguese players start today and now the second of them has fallen.

In a preflop all-in encounter, Ayaz Manji decided to gamble with {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, but found Erica Schoenberg a happy and willing customer with {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}.

The board ran {K-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {9-Spades} and the best hand held up and the Portuguese player leaves the feature table.

Dustin Time

Dustin Dirksen has nigh-on doubled up through chip leader Sergey Rybachenko.

With 15,000 in the pot by the turn of the {7-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} board, Rybachenko checked to Dirksen who bet 7,000. A pause from Rybachenko, then a call.

Come the {J-Spades} river, Rybachenko checked again, and this time Dirksen bet 11,500. Another pause, and another call -- and this time a muck when Dirksen turned over {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}.

Dizzy With Action

It's all in the cards
It's all in the cards
Just before the break there was a flurry of action at two tables either side of me.

I reached one table to see Jeff Kimber shaking his head. He was just passing a bunch of chips over to Nikolay Evdakov after his {K-Spades} {K-Hearts} was cracked by Evdakov's {A-Spades} {J-Spades} on the {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs} board. That left Kimber on 24,700.

Then I turned to see Jacques Zaicik getting up from his seat after his {A-?} {10-?} was crushed by Goran Gratte's {A-?} {K-?} on a board containing and ace and a king.

I then turn to find the Russian, Nikolay Evdakov, in the mix again reraising a Antony Lellouche's raise all in. Lellouche made the call with {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and was racing Evdakov's {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}. The board came nine-high, enabling Lellouche's stack to grow to 37,000. Evdakov's on 13,000 after the double-up-double-down.

And breathe....
