As far as poker goes, Shaun Deeb's last 20 minutes does just that...

Shortly after eliminating Mike McDonald from the tournament, Deeb doubled up Max Pescatori and then found himself butting heads with chip leader Jason Mercier in the following hand:

Deeb opened with a preflop raise to 9,000 from the cutoff and both Mercier (button) and Pescatori (small blind) called.

The flop came {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} and all three players checked. The dealer then burned and turned the {4-Clubs} and the action was checked to Deeb who fired a 15,000 bet. Mercier then kicked it up to 65,000, Max folded and Deeb made the call.

The {Q-Clubs} fell on the river and Deeb passed to Mercier who fired a monster 115,000 bet. Deeb made the call and Mercier announced, "Nuts," as he turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} [{4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}], good for the nut Broadway straight.

Deeb mucked, but was later overheard telling friends on the rail that he had two pair (tens and fours), with a pair of aces.

The hand kicked Mercier up to 680,000 in chips and Deeb was left with about 88,000.

Shortly after the hand, Pescatori remarked, "I haven't looked at the average, but I think he's above," referring to Mercier's now-gargantuan chip stack.
