Swings and Roundabouts
Meanwhile Terry Cook has been on the aggressive after moving into John McCririck's old seat. Just now he took a pot off Dario Minieri, who had raised to 800 under the gun and bet out 1,700 on a flop, only to find Cook raising to 4,500. Minieri thought about it for a while, and let it go, saying "Show the bluff..." and with no bluff forthcoming, "No good, pocket Queens."
Then I spotted his tidy stacks over the line, all of it (38k roughly) preflop, with only 5k so far in the pot. His potential caller Cristiano Blanco looked quizzically at the bet, before deciding he wasn't up for putting the lot on the line and passing. That table has plenty of chips on it, with Francisco Lopez stacking high too, and no doubt plenty of action still to come before the dinner break.
And here is what a more sedate table looks like:
Hoyt Corkins -- 18,200
Zimnan Ziyard -- 24,300
Fabrice Soulier -- 31,900
Josh Gould -- 10,025
Roman Yitzhaki -- 19,000
Matthew Gilbert -- 11,325
John Ridge -- 19,800
Jan Heitmann -- 32,000
Feklisov -- 28,000
The cool Soulier showed up late and proceeded to steadily climb in chips, while there has yet to be a player eliminated from this table.
