Recent Eliminations

In case you are tuning in later, here's a list of eliminations that happened during the last level....

Allen Cunningham, Andreas Hagen, Jon Shoreman, David Finney, Neil Channing, Vik Kanwar, Thomas Wissner, Owen Lock, Michael Greco, Ben Roberts, Johnny Lodden, Irfan Hassan, Gerry Kane, Brendan Walls, Jeff Kimber, Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo, Per Hildebrand , and Howard Lederer.

Flopping the Nuts

With Ake Karlsson betting 5k on an {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} board, neighbour Terje Augdul dwells up before nonchalantly flicking out a red 5k chip of his own.

River = {5-Hearts}

Terje checks, and without hesitation, Ake moves all-in for 10,400, slamming the chips into the pot as if to double bluff his opponent into thinking he's weak.

Well, it worked, Terje calling with {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and being met by a flushalicious {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Drawing dead, the {K-Hearts} river was academic, unlike me.

A New Featured Table

Just before the break, the featured table was broken up. They are breaking in order of highest table number to lowest, and the feature table (#9) was the next in line to break.

Daniel Negreanu and Lee Nelson were moved to the table upstairs containing Johnny Chan and Joe Beevers. That table has since been moved onto the feature table (effectively, Daniel and Joe stayed put, moving into their new seats, and the rest of the table was moved in there).

Straight for Frazer

As reported by my secret source, Ian Frazer has just doubled up with {6-Spades}{4-Clubs} versus {A-Spades}{7-Spades}, all-in on the turn of a {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board.

Perhaps inspired by Phil Hellmuth, King of the Bullet Dodgers, Frazer avoided a spade on the river to scoop in a nice pot.

Let's Hear It For David Finney

Finney Finished
Finney Finished
...Who just busted out. I spotted the luxuriant mane of Finney heading for the door, and the action which had sent him that way was this:

Finney moved in on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. He was holding, as we were about to see, {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. More seconds than you might imagine passed before Patrick Jouven made the call with his flopped set - {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Turn: {4-Diamonds} "Two outs..." murmur the table
River: {4-Hearts} And we lose him right before the current break. The crowd goes unexpectedly wild, one of the best (and only) rounds of applause heard today in the downstairs poker area.

Mark Vos, Chip Counter?

Mark Vos walked over to media row and asked us who the chipleader was. We told him a few names such as Magnus Persson, who has 135,000. He mentioned to us that Kenny Tran has a lot.

Mark Vos: "Kenny, how many chips you got? 140,000?"

Kenny Tran: "None of your business."

We figured out that Tran has 120,000.
