Kirk Morrison, Action Junkie

Kirk Morrison at the final table of the HORSE event
Kirk Morrison at the final table of the HORSE event
Kirk Morrison made the final table of the £2,500 HORSE event. They are currently on a dinner break. With four players remaining, he's the chipleader sitting on a stack of over 500,000. Morrison rushed past us and ran to his table in the £5,000 PLO. He's been two tabling events today and had been getting blinded off in the PLO event. His intentions are to play in the PLO event until his dinner break is over at the final table of the HORSE event. You have to love Kirk Morrison's enthusiasm for the game of poker.

The Big Game Comes to London

Doyle is still in it, though he needs to get moving. He has quite an interesting line-up of railbirds at the moment: Freddy Deeb, Todd Brunson and Barry Greenstein are all watching him from the rail. Not only that, but Eli Elezra has just been moved to his left.

It could be the Bellagio for all we know, apart from the English Football on the TV.

David Williams Avoids Elimination

David Williams
David Williams
On a flop of {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, David Williams fired out 1,000. Jesse Jones raised to 4,000 and Williams called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Williams moved all in for his last 7,800. Jesse Jones counted out his chips and thought for about a minute before he called.

Williams: {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}
Jones: {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Jones was ahead with a set of fours against Williams' top two pair. Williams stood up and prepared to leave as he grabbed his things. He was about to push his chair in and leave the table when the {5-Hearts} spiked on the river, giving him a bigger boat. He smiled as he dragged the pot and avoided elimination. He increased his stack to 26,000 as Jones slipped to 21,000.

A Battle of Attrition...

Action from the floor of the Empire Casino. Can you guess who is under the hat?
Action from the floor of the Empire Casino. Can you guess who is under the hat?
The second chance period is over, so the attrition rate in this tournament has really picked up pace. Every few minutes a player stands up, sighs, pushes their chair in and heads for the door. Tournament PLO is a dangerous, volatile game, where fortunes change fast, as many of these regular cash game players are finding out.

Kest-gone

Robin Keston, a big cash game player here in the UK and a final table participant in last year's Barcelona EPT, has just been eliminated from the tournament.

As has former European Player of the Year, Dave Colclough, who was shortstacked before singing his swan song.
