Patrik Antonius

Sorry ladies, Patrik Antonius is out, he got all his money in on a bluff against a chap with a pair and a straight draw. The straight was made and Antonius was left to beat off the ladies with a dirty stick

Mizzi in Action (i.e. Missing in Action)

Brian Townsend
Brian Townsend
Two of the Internet's finest are now having a drink at the bar together, which means they are out. The best online cash-game player, Brian Townsend and the best MTT player, Sorel Mizzi were enjoying a drink together and chatting about how great it is to be great at poker, probably.

Tony "Bring on the Russians" G has found his prayers answered, a most welcome set-versus-set confrontation seeing him demolish the stack of Hoyt Corkins and doubling himself up to the 100K mark (he's still stacking his chips, so I can't say for sure) in the process.

As Tony G said himself, "You flop a set, I flop a set, it's easy." The G-ster's {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} leaving his opponent's {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades} looking like rather slim pickings on a {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop, the {4-Diamonds} turn and {5-Hearts} river providing no miracle.

As Tony grins like a schoolchild who's just been told school's closed for the year, Hoyt is stoic as he is handed back just 15K in chips

Mark Vos Spotted at Bar; Conclusion = He's Busto

Mark Vos playing in the HORSE event yesterday
Mark Vos playing in the HORSE event yesterday
Due to the odd circumstances of the lack of playing space at the Empire Casino, the field was split up. Some of the players were downstairs in the poker room while seven tables were scattered throughout the casino on the upper floor. We're doing our best to keep track of players, but sometimes we lose track of a player once a specific table breaks.

For example, we thought Mark Vos was still in today's event until I spotted him buying cocktails at the downstairs bar. It appears that he's been out for a while. In order to bring you the most comprehensive coverage, we shall spend more time at the bar trying to locate various missing players.

"You Can Have It, Amit"

Amit saddling up in the HORSE

"Big pot here," murmurs Gary Jones from the rail.

I dash over to stumble across a sumptuous four-way pot, three players, including Rafi Amit and Phil Gordon all calling Hoyt Corkins' 6.5K preflop raise to create a circa 25K pot.

Flop = {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

All the players check round to Rafi Amit, who bets out 30K, the majority of his stack.

"Go on Rafi," cheers Gary under his breath.

The two limp callers quickly throw in their cards, only for Hoyt to ask for a count.

His cowboy hat uncharacteristically removed, the bald-as-a-coot Hoyt mulls over his decision pensively, rubbing his chin and eyeing up the stack of Amit. He glances down at his own stack, checks his cards and continues to dwell.

Meanwhile, Amit's eyes stay fixed on the felt, his right hand nonchalantly riffling chips as if he doesn't have a care in the world.

After a while, the initial raiser opts for a fold allowing the bracelet winner to snap up a big pot uncontested.

"What do you think Hoyt had?" I asked Gary.

"Well, he could easily have had aces," replied Gary. "He's good enough to fold, especially on that flop. aces isn't much of a hand without the flush draw."

Amit Omits

Rafi Amit calls a river bet from Nenad Medic, and when Medic announces, "I have no pair," Amit opens a pair of jacks. Medic folds and the table asks to see all of Rafi's hole cards. A debate ensues and the floor is called over. It is ruled that any player at the table can request to see the hand as the betting round is complete and the bet was called.

Rafi opens his entire hand, revealing {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, apparently forgetting that he also had aces in the hole!

PokerNews Video: Tom 'durrr' Dwan

Huuuummmmmbeeerrrtoooooo. No.

The very short-stacked Humberto Brenes took his last chips into battle on a flop of A-6-10. The call was small, so Tom Dwan made it. Humberto had an ace, while Dwan had a six. The turn was another six and that was about all for Humberto, who told the shark he could have the rest of the day off. Humberto is out.
