Kassouf Knocks One Out

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Action started with William Kassouf raising under the gun to 500. He got three callers before the button raised it to 3,200. Kassouf was the lone caller, and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

After he realized that his opponent had just one 5,000 chip left, Kassouf offered him a deal. "OK, let's put them both in together on three, OK?" After starting to count, his opponent said he might not call. "Oh, really. Well that changes things," Kassouf said. Eventually, he said, "OK, you ready? Whoop there it is," Kassouf said as he tossed it in. His opponent called, and Kassouf said, "I got lucky," and rolled over {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for trip nines. His opponent had {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and would need a lot of help to survive.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, giving Kassouf a full house, but a jack would still flip the hand for Kassouf's opponent. The river was the {Q-Clubs} though, and Kassouf scored the knockout.

De Silva Loses Some

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

With 3,700 chips in the middle on a flop of {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Upeshka De Silva bet 1,325 from the small blind into his lone opponent on the button. After brief consideration, the button shoved. De Silva rechecked his hole cards and folded after a few moments of thought. Despite the small setback of losing this pot, the two-time bracelet winner still has plenty of chips to work with.

Volpe Takes Another Pot

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Paul Volpe has been running over his table ever since he sat down, and he just took out another player to boost his stack to over 70,000. There was a short stack all in preflop, and he was called by Valentin Vornicu and Volpe. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and both players checked. The {3-Diamonds} hit the turn, and Volpe fired out 3,000. Vornicu called, and the river brought the {K-Hearts}.

Volpe thought for a bit before tossing out a 5,000 chip, and Vornicu rechecked his card before reluctantly folding what he later said was ace-queen. Volpe rolled over {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for two pair, and it bested the {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of the all-in player, sending him to the rail.

Valentin Vornicu
Valentin Vornicu

Valentin Vornicu raised to 525 from the cutoff, and Paul Volpe three-bet to 1,500 from the button. The blinds got out of the way, and Vornicu called.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and Vornicu checked. Volpe bet 1,300, and Vornicu shoved for 9,625. After brief consideration, Volpe folded, and Vornicu took the pot.

Vornicu also informed the PokerNews Live Reporting team that he had just chipped up in the previous hand, as well. The player under the gun raised to 800 before the flop, Vornicu called with {A-}{A-} from the button, and the big blind called. The flop fell {J-}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and action checked through. The turn was the {9-Spades}, and the big blind checked. The preflop raiser bet 800, Vornicu called, and the big blind folded. On the {K-Spades} river, the preflop raiser bet 2,250. Vornicu shoved for 5,950, and his opponent showed a jack and folded.

Sprungl Catches the River

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

With about 3,000 in the pot and the board reading {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, a player in middle position bet 1,500. Troy Sprungl was on the button and called, as did the big blind.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, and action checked to Sprungl, who bet 4,500. The big blind called, and the other player folded.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and the big blind moved all in for roughly 21,000. Sprungl snap-called for what appeared to be 15,000. The big blind tabled {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw, and Sprungl showed {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for trips to take it down.
