Soderstrom Looking Scared, But Winning Chips

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

"You look scared," said Dominik Nitsche to Tomas Soderstrom. "You look really scared."

The board read {q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Soderstrom had bet 165,000. Nitsche held some chips in his hand and eventually flung them into the middle.

Soderstrom turned over {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Nitsche handed over the chips to his opponent.

Danielle Andersen Flushes Her Opponent

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Danielle Anderson
Danielle Anderson

With around 55,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Danielle Andersen checked from the big blind and her opponent bet 25,000 from middle position. Andersen called and the {9-Spades} came on the turn.

Andersen checked again and her opponent bet 50,000 this time. Andersen called and the river brought the {a-Clubs}.

Andersen checked for the third time and her opponent bet 65,000. Andersen quickly made the call and her opponent tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Andersen showed {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and raked in the pot.

Dilovan Hussein Spikes a Set to Double Through Jared Jaffee

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With about 225,000 in the pot, on a board reading {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Dilovan Hussein moved all in for 427,000 from early position. Jared Jaffee was in the hijack and asked for a count, clearly unsure of what he was going to do. Eventually, he called.

Hussein triumphantly tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens and Jaffee disappointingly tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of jacks. "No jack, baby!" yelled Hussein.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Hussein doubled up.

"Woooo!" exclaimed Hussein. "That's what I'm talking about! That's why I shoved. I knew you were gonna call," he continued.

Jeff Lisandro piped in, "You're gonna become a national hero, man." He smiled.

"I love you, ten," shouted Hussein.

Charlie Carrel vs. Kenny Hallaert

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Charlie Carrel
Charlie Carrel

Kenny Hallaert raised to 22,000 from middle position and Charlie Carrel three-bet to 70,000 from the hijack. Hallaert called.

Their stacks totalled more than three million, and that perhaps played a part in the ensuing action, or rather the lack thereof.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Hallaert checked and Carrel's bet of 55,000 got a quick fold from the 2016 November Niner.

An Unlucky Chop for Akkari

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Andre Akkari moved all in from under the gun and the next player to act called. Everyone else got out of the way and the two players tabled their hands.

Akkari: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

Akkari had the preflop advantage and stayed ahead on the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, but the {4-Diamonds} turn double-paired the board, making a chop look likely. The {J-Hearts} on the river sealed the deal and the two players split the pot.

Charalampos Lappas Eliminated by Straight Flush and Quads

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Charalampos Lappas and Matthew Diehl were all in and at risk against the big stack of Mikhail Korotkikh.

Korotkikh had {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and was in the lead against the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Lappas and the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} of Deihl.

Korotkikh celebrated loudly when the flop came {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and he flopped four of a kind. Diehl pointed to the flop as the turn was coming down.

"Straight flush," he said, seeing he still had outs to win.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, but the river was the {k-Diamonds}, and Korotkikh's excitement was somewhat muted by the runout. Diehl would triple up and Korotkikh made about 50,000 on the pot from Lappas.

"That's a Professional Call"

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Clint Tolbert
Clint Tolbert

We found Clint Tolbert facing an all-in shove from Julio Belluscio. There was north of 350,000 in the middle, and Belluscio was in the big blind and all in for 261,000. The board read {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Tolbert, in the small blind, stood up and rubbed his face after getting the count. He dropped in some chips to call.

Belluscio pounded the table in submission and turned over {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a missed gutter on the turn. Tolbert showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

"Wow, that's a professional call," someone said. "Way to sniff that out."
