With the board reading {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs} and around 40,000 in the pot already, Bernardo Dias had put out a stack of orange from middle position, putting Jack Duong to a decision for his remaining stack of 31,200.

Duong called the clock on himself, and when the floorperson came over to the table and learned he called it on himself, she announced that he had ten seconds left to act, and began counting down.

Duong was surprised and asked, "Hold on, what?"

His tablemates explained the rule that if you call the clock on yourself you only get ten seconds. The countdown had begun, and Duong said, "Wait. You already started?"

"Seven, six, five," and in a fluster, Duong put forward his stack to call.

Dias tabled {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and Duong's {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} for the straight to the king was good for the double up.
