Daniel Negreanu Pays $5 to See He Folded the Best Hand

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

"That was worth the five bucks," Daniel Negreanu said after paying five dollars to see Bob Slezak's hand.

Slezak bet 8,000 on the river into a pot of about 22,000, and Negreanu only had 14,000 left. The board read {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and Negreanu went through Slezak's possible holdings.

"Let's go through what you might have," Negreanu held out his fingers and began ticking them off almost as if playing "This Little Piggy."

"You don't have that one, or that one. I can't beat this one," Negreanu said, shaking his finger with his opposite hand.

Negreanu folded.

"Five bucks and I'll show you," said Bob Slezak.

"Five bucks? Okay."

Negreanu tossed Slezak a $10 bill, and Slezak made change. Then he showed him {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}.
