Liebert Can't Get a Fold
Level 7
: 400/800, 100 ante
On a board of , there was already 16,000 chips in the pot between Kathy Liebert and one other opponent. The player was first to act, and from the big blind he checked it over to Liebert. Liebert put out a bet of 20,000 and the other player was in the tank.
He thought for several minutes as the bet represented more than 80 percent of his remaining chip stack. Eventually, he decided to call. Liebert showed for the straight on the board. The player looked like he was going to muck his hand, then turned over to chop the pot.
"You were one orange chip short of making him fold," another player said from the table. "He cut out his stack and only had 6,400 left behind after the bet. He probably would've folded."
