Maybe We Should Raise the Blinds Now
For the last 100 minutes of Level 2, blinds have been 150/300 with no ante. Sitting at the secondary feature table, Mike McDonald was enjoying a conversation with his friend via text. The two were analyzing hands and talking strategy. McDonald gave his friend some input on a hand and his friend corrected him about the bet-sizing.
McDonald was made aware of the current blind level and quickly realized his table was playing the wrong one. Instead of going to 150/300 after the first level of 75/150, they played 100/200, a blind level that isn't featured on the structure sheet this year.
Finally playing the correct blinds, McDonald opened to 700 from under the gun and Bertrand Grospellier called from early position. The flop was and McDonald check-folded to a bet of 1,200 from Grospellier.
