Polk's Bluff Gets Called

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Doug Polk opened to 1,200 from middle position, Mike Matusow called from the hijack, and Darren Grant three-bet to 3,500 from the button. Polk four-bet to 8,300, Grant asked Polk how much he had to start the hand, which was about 40,000, and he called a few moments later.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, and both players checked. The turn brought the {4-Clubs}, and they checked again. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the river, and Polk bet 6,000. Grant quickly called.

Polk announced, "King-high," as he flipped over {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Grant tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for the wheel and took the pot.
