Mike Ross Wins a Big Pot

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Mike Ross: {3-}{8-} / {a-}{9-}{6-}{2-} / {7-}
Player 2: {7-}{8-} / {3-}{a-}{a-}{j-} / {x-}
Player 3: {3-}{2-} / {2-}{7-}{7-}{6-} / {4-}
Player 4: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{j-} - fold

After a complete, Mike Ross raised on third street, and all three players called.

Mike Matusow decided that Player 4 was going to win the hand. On fourth street, though, he was the only player to brick.

"Good one, Mike," Matusow said to himself, "I gotta pick a new winner now." When someone suggested he pick Ross, he declined. "I don't want to put the whammy on my friend."

Player 2 bet, and Ross raised before Player 3 called, and Player 4 folded. Player 2 then called.

"Kings for everybody," Ross said. "Let's see how that goes."

Player 2 hit an ace and paired.

"There's a king," Ross said.

Ross hit a nine.

"There's a king."

Player 3 hit a seven and paired.

"There's a king."

Ross bet, and Player 3 raised. Player 2 called for less, and Ross re-raised. Player 3 called for less, as well.

The players revealed their hands. Player 3 was drawing to a seven and made it, showing {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Ross was also drawing and hit a better seven {7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}{a-} to win the pot, while Player 2 was drawing dead.

Ross collected the pot while two players headed to the rail.
