2-7 Triple Draw

Ian John raised from the cutoff with a short stack. Scott Seiver took a look at Johns' chip stack from across the table.

"I started the hand with 152,000," Johns said. Seiver then made it three bets. Johannes Becker called from the big blind and Johns moved all in for 2,000 more. Both players called.

All three players took two on the first draw. Seiver then checked to Becker who bet, and Seiver called.

On the second draw, Seiver took two while Becker and Johns took one. Seiver then checked over to Becker who bet again, but this time Seiver folded. Becker stood pat on the last draw while Johns took one.

Becker showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} but Johns was drawing live with {7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

"It's a three across," Johns said, sweating his last card. "And it's a club."

"You're definitely good then!" Scott Seiver said, having seen the seven and eight of clubs already. Seiver was right, Johns turned up the {6-Clubs} and earned himself a triple-up to stay alive in the tournament.
