Becker With the Accidental Slow Roll

Level 19 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Becker: {x-}{x-} / {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} / {x-}
Sion: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} / {x-}

Johannes Becker completed and was raised by Elior Sion. Becker called and the two headed to fourth street. Becker checked on fourth, then called a bet from Sion. After a long pause, both players checked on fifth street. Becker had thought the action was on Sion, when really it was on him.

"Ok, you've both had enough time to think about the spots, now it's time to go," Scott Seiver said who was also sitting at the table.

On sixth street, Becker had the betting lead and he bet. Sion called. Becker bet again on seventh and Sion called again.

"Pair of nines and a low," Becker said, showing {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}, but he had misread his hand.

"You have a straight," Seiver said. "But I respect that you tried to slowroll him. 'I have a pair of nines and a five, six, seven, eight, nine low.'"

Sion mucked though and that earned the pot for Becker.
