With a substantial pot of about 50,000 already brewing on a flop of {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}, a player in middle position checked to William Kassouf in the cutoff, and he bet 24,000.

"If you've got top pair, you're behind," said Kassouf. "Best hand preflop, best hand on the flop." The middle-position player called.

The turn brought the {J-Spades} and Kassouf instructed his opponent, "Don't make a small bet. All in or fold." Kassouf's opponent bet 33,000, leaving himself about 50,000 chips behind, and Kassouf quickly shoved, sending his opponent into the tank. "You can't bluff me and I know you haven't got a jack."

The middle-position player said he had a straight flush draw. "I know I can't be dead," he said.

"You've got one out."

After over five minutes, the clock was called. The seconds ticked down to zero and Kassouf's opponent's hand was declared dead. Kassouf flashed the {A-Diamonds} as he tossed his cards into the muck.

"If you don't have ace jack there, I'll never touch a card again," said Kassouf's opponent.
