Engel Avoids All Outs in the World; Knocks Out Aron

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Thomas Boivin raised from an early position and lojack Ari Engel came up with a three-bet, making it 7,800. The action stopped at Michael Aron, who cold-four-bet shoved his 29,500.

Boivin got out of the way, but Engel wanted to know the count. He wasn't entirely convinced about calling, but eventually threw in the chips to accept the race.

Michael Aron: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Ari Engel {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The {J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} was a huge teaser for Aron, who now had a ton of options to get ahead, albeit his striaght draw was largely blocked by Engel's tens. The {2-Diamonds} turn discarded Aron's remaining straight out, but he still hoped for a heart or any ace and king. None of that emerged on the river as the {J-Spades} kept Engel's hand out front.
