Alexander Freund Takes Two in a Row

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Alexander Freund got short-stacked but just won a couple in a row.

Wes Hickey completed, Dan Heimiller raised, and Freund made it three bets. Hickey folded, and Heimiller called. On fourth street, Freund went all in for 2,900 with a pair of tens showing. Heimiller sighed and said, "This is a situation where... okay, I have to call," and he put the chips in.

Freund: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}/{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Heimiller: {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}/{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

Freund was ahead with trip tens, and his runout was {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}, giving him an ace-high flush. Heimiller only improved to two pair with {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and Freund got the double-up.

The very next hand, Freund kept improving again, this time against Bryan Slick.

Freund: {X-}{X-}/{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Slick: {X-}{X-}/{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} - fold
Johns: {X-}{X-}/{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs} - fold

Freund bet with two aces showing on fourth street and Bryan Slick called. Ian Johns folded and Freund got another ace on fifth street. He bet again and Slick laughed before folding his cards.
