Welcome, Tim West

Level 3 : 250/500, 0 ante

JC Tran seemed slightly guilty about picking up aces in the small blind shortly after Tim West joined the table.

Tran made it four bets from the small blind and West continued to the flop with another player. The flop was {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Tran bet. Both opponents called. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Tran checked. West opened the betting and Tran raised. West was the lone caller.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and Tran bet. West called and Tran showed two black aces: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

"Not the way to welcome you to the table," Tran said and the two fist-bumped and exchanged a few pleasantries.

In Tran's last foray in limit hold'em, he posted a fifth-place finish in the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship. Former WSOP Main Event Champion Joe McKeehen went on to win his second bracelet in that event.

Tran has two WSOP bracelets. One in Pot-Limit Omaha and one in No-Limit Hold'em. His best Limit Hold'em finish is fifth, and he has done that two times in the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship. Once this year and once in 2008. Tran also finished fifth in the WSOP Main Event in 2013.
