Walter Treccarichi Eliminates an Opponent

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

The player under the gun raised to 700. The player in the hijack called. Walter Treccarichi three-bet to 2,700 in the small blind. The original raiser folded and the player in hijack stuck around with a call.

The players saw a flop of {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Treccarichi checked. His opponent moved all in for his last 2,500. Treccarichi instantly called.

Treccarichi: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Treccarichi took down the pot, eliminating his opponent.

Brutal Bust For Lybaert

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Bart Lybaert
Bart Lybaert

Last year, Bart Lybaert was one of the highlights of the 47th World Series of Poker. Lybaert racked up 10 cashes over the course of the summer, including a second place in the $1,000 Top-Up Turbo worth $88,328. This year, Lybaert opted for a lighter schedule and arrived just a week ago.

Lybaert was down to his last 4,000 and a player limped in for 300, Lybaert raised to 1,050 with {Q-}{Q-} and the limper called. On a {J-}{9-}{4-} flop with one club, Lybaert's opponent led out with a bet of 1,200. Lybaert shoved around 3,000 and his opponent called with {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, uttering the words "I might get lucky."

Lybaert's opponent did get lucky, as both the turn and the river brought a club to crack Lybaert's pocket queens and send the Belgian grinder to the rail in brutal fashion.
