Cantu Takes the Lead in First Hand

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Brandon Cantu
Brandon Cantu

Brandon Cantu barely had time to get his chips out of the bag before getting involved in a big pot on Day 2. Cantu, on the button, was heads-up with Matas Cimbolas in the big blind.

The board read {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-Spades} with around 30,000 in the middle and Cantu made a bet of 11,600. The action was on Cimbolas and he was not moving. After several minutes had passed, the clock was finally called on Cimbolas. The countdown was down to five seconds and he decided to pile the rest of his 39,900 chips into the pot in a big heap.

Once the dealer finally sorted through the chips to give Cantu a count, he made the call. Cimbolas showed {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Cantu tabled {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to eliminate Cimbolas and take over the chip lead.
