Matt Affleck Eliminates Another One

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Matt Affleck opened to 27,000 from the cutoff and the big blind reshoved for approximately 125,000. Affleck called and both players tabled their hands.

Affleck rolled over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and found himself racing against his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Affleck's pocket pair held up, and his opponent was eliminated.

Some People That Have Left Us Today

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

As the bustouts went quite quickly today, we haven't managed to get everyone listed in our reporting. We had a look through the tweets to see who have exited the tournament.

Ryan Laplante Doubles Up

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

A player in middle position opened with a raise to 27,000 and bracelet winner Ryan Laplante moved all in from the small blind for approximately 250,000. After a few moments of thought, the middle-position player called, and the cards were on their backs.

Laplante held {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was significantly ahead of his opponent, who showed {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, Laplante's hand held, and he doubled up.

Mark Babekov Busts Two In a Tear

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

There was an open for 27,000 from under the gun and a call from the player next to him. The player on the button made the call and action was on Mark Babekov in the small blind.

Babekov raised it up to 106,000 which saw the original raiser fold but the next player moved all in. The player on the button, who would later say that he was priced in, called. Babekov had them both covered and called.

The early position player held {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, the button {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, and Babekov the mighty {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

The cards came {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Babekov has been on a tear these first few levels and now has 1.5 million chips.

Mark Babekov Busts Another Two; Nears 2 Million

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Franklin Connell open-shoved for 168,000 and got a call from Mark Babekov. A third player moved all in over the top for a total of just over 180,000 and the math made for a call from Babekov.

Connell with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} faced off against the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Babekov and the other player’s {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop was {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

A set of nines for Connell shot him into the lead.

The turn card was the {a-Spades} which secured Connell a full house.

The river, however, was the {q-Spades} to give Babekov boat over boat to secure an unlikely double elimination and see another big pot shipped his way as he closes in on 2 million in chips.

Is there no stopping this man?

One of the Bigger Stacks in the Room

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We got to the table when Kevin Davis bet 31,000 preflop. Pejman Kazemi called on the button and so did the player that paid the big blind in Seat 3.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Seat 3 checked, Davis bet 35,000, Kazemi folded, and the player in Seat 3 called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}. Davis' opponent checked and Davis went all in for 223,000. Again, the player in Seat 3 called.

Seat 3 showed {5-}{2-} for two pairs and Davis showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} so only a {4-} could save him.

The dealer dealt the river which was the {4-Spades}, which gave Davis the out to stay alive.
