Luke Brereton Doubles Up

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

A player in early position raised to 135,000, a player in middle position called, and Luke Brereton moved all in from the cutoff for 890,000. The original raiser called, the middle-position player folded, and the two players tabled their hands. Brereton was at risk holding {8-}{8-}, and had to win a coin flip against his opponent's {A-}{K-} in order to double up. The {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop gave Brereton a set of eights and a commanding lead, the {9-Hearts} on the turn and {J-} on the river changed nothing, and Brereton took the pot.
