Anthony Macnamara Cashes His First World Series of Poker Event Ever

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Stud

Chris Tryba called us over to his table to share the story of Anthony Macnamara who was playing in his first World Series of Poker event ever. Macnamara was able to survive through the bubble with just one ante left and he was all in and at risk immediately after the bubble broke.

"I flew all the way from Australia for this," Macnamara said excitedly as he waited for the action.

"I wish I cashed in my first event ever," Tryba said. "I might've quit!"

Macnamara was all in and at risk with a {6-Clubs} up. A few seats over, Matheus Mendes raised and everyone else folded. The boards rolled out as follows:

Macnamara: {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} / {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {A-Clubs}
Mendes: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} / {J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} / {3-Hearts}

Mendes made two pair and that would do it for Macnamara. He hit the rail, but not without collecting $4,523 for his first World Series of Poker cash.
