Charlie Carrel raised to 10,000 under the gun, and Dario Sammartino called in the cutoff. Tony Gregg called on the button, and the blinds folded.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Carrel checked. Sammartino bet 18,000, Gregg called, and Carrel folded. It was heads up to the {9-Diamonds} turn, and Sammartino checked. Gregg bet 32,500, and after a long pause, Sammartino moved all in, putting Gregg to a decision for the rest of his stack. Gregg called and they showed down.

Gregg: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Sammartino: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Gregg's two pair was ahead, but the {J-Hearts} came on the river, giving Sammartino a better two pair with queens and jacks. Gregg was eliminated, and Sammartino took the chip lead.
