Kohler Misreads Bets; Plays His Hand Face Up

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 20,000 ante

Bill Kohler completed with the {9-Spades} and Ernest Bohn defended his {2-Clubs}. Fourth street saw Kohler bet again and Bohn stuck around.

Fifth street turned out to be very interesting. Bohn was first to act and he checked. Kohler continued in barreling, but Bohn opted for a check-raise. Kohler said "I call," twice but he didn't know he was supposed to pay more. The dealer explained him the situation and Kohler changed his mind, trying to send his {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} hole cards to the muck.

The dealer and floor person informed Kohler that he was still obliged to pay the extra bet. Kohler then took his cards back and said: "Alright then, I'm going to play my cards face up."

So the action continued through to sixth street where Kohler called Bohn's bet. Bohn, knowing six of Kohler's seven cards, fired on the river as well. Kohler finally gave up. Bohn showed him his two pair, jacks and deuces.

Bill Kohler: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{X-} / {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Ernest Bohn: {J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

That was the last hand before the break.
