Vornicu Off to a Sharp Start Again
He reached a remarkable feat, bagging a back-to-back chip lead in WSOP bracelet events, and, to make it even more unbelievable, he did it in one day. While Valentin Vornicu couldn't squeeze more than $3,734 for 88th place from his great field position in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Event, he's yet to come back for Day 2 of THE GIANT, which is still several weeks away.
In the meantime, Vornicu has plenty opportunities to try stealing the headlines again. Well, he's doing his best in the $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo event. After being a little disappointed with a lack of reporters' attention until his outstanding performance on Day 1b of THE GIANT, Vornicu won't certainly fly under the radar at the 2017 WSOP anymore.
No matter what event is on the schedule, Valentin Vornicu has chips. Less than two levels into the stud hi-lo tournament, Vornicu is already guarding nearly three times as much than what he received when he sat down. He's playing roughly 20,000.
Another pot went his way a few moments ago, and here's how it unfolded:
Vornicu had the bring-in with the and a player with completed. Another player called but he eventually laid down on the fourth street for just a cameo appearance. Vornicu also called.
Vornicu paired his threes right away but it was his opponent who bet. Vornicu led out on the fifth street, though, and both players placed in one bet on the sixth too. No bets were made on the seventh.
