Veronica Daly Doubles Through Early Hirakawa

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Darrell Ticehurst raised to 55,000 from under the gun and Veronica Daly called from the cutoff. Earl Hirakawa was in the big blind and moved all in for 603,000. Ticehurst folded and Daly called for 578,000.

Daly tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and was at risk against Hirakawa's {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} in a classic coin flip scenario.

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Daly pulled ahead with a pair of kings, while giving Hirakawa some outs to survive with a straight draw. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the river was the {a-Spades}. Daly doubled and Hirakawa was left with just 25,000 in chips.
