Negreanu Chops with a Nine

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Brian Tate raised, and Daniel Negreanu moved all in from the big blind for only 7,000 total. Tate called and stood pat through the draw rounds.

"Two specific cards, please," said Negreanu before the first draw.

He took one on the second draw and asked for one again on the third draw. Tate opened his {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Negreanu looked at his opponent's hand, and calculated: "I need an eight or a deuce," he said, tabling his {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Shaun Deeb added to Negreanu's outs, calling for a nine. "Nine for a chop?" Negreanu focused. "Oh I see, it's the same shit."

Negreanu then peaked at his last card, and it, indeed, was a nine. "Chop it!" Negreanu announced.

Negreanu survived this time but will still need a few double-ups to put his head above the water level.
