Chidwick Makes a Seventy-Six to Score a Near-Triple

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw:

Christopher Vitch raised from under the gun, and small blind Stephen Chidwick reraised. Zachary Richards joined from the big blind, and Vitch called, too.

All players drew two, and Chidwick led with a bet. Richards called, and Vitch raised. Chidwick three-bet, which was more than Richards had in total. Richards called all in for his 5,000 (two bets), and Vitch called Chidwick's three-bet.

Chidwick patted, and Vitch drew one. Chidwick then shoved for his remaining 2,400. Vitch called, drawing one again, albeit having a bad feeling about his chances: "I might be drawing dead," he said.

Chidwick turned over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the second nuts, and neither Vitch nor Richards could beat him. Vitch dropped a chunk of his big stack, while Richards departed.
