No Gamble No Future, Mohammed Suhail Doubles

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

With a turbo structure and the field still in the unlimited re-buy period, one needs nerves of steel and to not be adverse to the odd gamble at time in the tournament. Several players have seen their first bullet stray wide of the target, but one has recently gotten, by his own admission, a touch lucky to still be in.

Mohammed Suhail, a recreational player, recounted opening with {8-Spades}{2-Spades} from his stack of 13,000 and then calling a three-bet to 3,100.

The flop was {10-}{10-}{2-}, where Suhail check-called a bet of 2,500. The turn was the {q-}, and a check from Suhail saw his opponent bet 4,000. Suhail responed by moving all in to, as he put it, "get his opponent off his hand."

His opponent thought for a while before calling with {a-}{8-}, and with the river bricking out, the bottom pair of Suhail secured him a double-up to get above starting stack.
