David Bach Headlines Final Nine in $1,500 Dealers Choice!
Day 2 of the Event #11: $1,500 Dealers Choice 6-Handed has come to a conclusion with just nine players remaining and David Bach holding the chip lead and eyeing his second WSOP bracelet.
The day started with 89 players looking to make a run at firstly reaching the money before mounting a charge towards the final table. Unfortunately the likes of Yuval Bronshtein, Jake Schwartz, Aaron Steury, Jeff Madsen, Yueqi Zhu, John Racener, and Eric Rodawig all fell short of the money before David Macklin would be eliminated on the bubble when his aces were outdrawn in Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo by his opponent's straight and low.
With 55 players now guaranteed a $2,253 payday, the quick rate of play continued as the likes of Tom Franklin (50th), Ray Henson (47th), Chris Ferguson (44th), Kyle Bowker (38th), Scott Bohlman (33rd), Marco Johnson (30th), Tommy Hang (29th), David Benyamine (28th), Mark Gregorich (27th), Jesse Martin (20th), Alex Luneau (15th), Jon Turner (13th), and Justin Bonomo (10th) all fell short of a Day 3 berth.
Amazingly, two previous champions made the money as Lawrence Berg finished 45th after winning this event in 2016, while Robert Mizrachi had a tremendous run that ended in 12th place after missing a huge wrap and flush draw against David Bach. That hand, along with a huge double through Bonomo before he was eliminated, catapulted Bach up the leaderboard before he eventually bagged the chip lead with an impressive 798,500 in chips.
Right on his heels however is Christopher Sensoli who ended the day with 552,000, while Chip Jett rounds out the top three with 305,500. However with big betting limits already in play, the shorter stacks only need a little bit of life and luck and they too can rocket up the leaderboard. Here is how Day 3 will line-up:
