Hand #195 - Joe Cada Doubles through Jeff Shulman

Eric Buchman has the button. Jeff Shulman is under the gun and comes into the pot with a raise to 1.75 million. Action passes to the small blind, Joe Cada, who moves all in for 10.8 million. Shulman calls inside of ten seconds, and with good reason -- he has {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. Cada turns over {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts}. He has the worst hand and is the one at risk of elimination.

Wow. Run good one time, Joe Cada. It's a trey in the window.

Yep, the flop is {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}. The turn {7-Spades} doesn't help Shulman. He needs a jack, and only a jack, on the river to send Cada packing. Cada can't stand to watch the river, instead putting his head in Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy's chest. (Josephy's wearing one of the yellow "CADA" t-shirts.) The river is paint, but it's the {Q-Hearts}. That's no help for Shulman and the worst hand wins again.

New counts:

Shulman - 7.525 million
Cada - 22.575 million

Hand #194 - Jeff Shulman

Darvin Moon has the button. Jeff Shulman raises to 1.75 million in the cutoff, and Moon comes right along with a quick call. The blinds duck out of the way, and it's heads up to the flop.

The dealer runs it out {2-Spades} {9-Spades} {6-Clubs}. Shulman keeps the pressure on with a bet of 2 million, and it's the winning amount.

Hand #192 - Joe Cada

Antoine Saout has the button. Joe Cada puts in the opening raise to 1.5 million, and that's enough to win the pot. It's still just a few hands in, but it looks like things have tightened back up after that flurry of activity.

The Post Ivey Atmosphere

It's hard to deny that the entire energy of the Penn & Teller Theater has changed with the departure of Phil Ivey in 7th place. A number of the spectators left, and the rest are now having a difficult time choosing someone to root for.

Obviously, Ivey winning the World Series of Poker Main Event would have meant a lot to the poker world. Can any of the remaining five players do as much for poker as Ivey could have?

We broke down the effect each of the final nine could have on the game of poker in an article earlier this week. Let us know who you are rooting for in our shoutbox.
