Darus Suharto has the button in Seat 5. Action folds to Dennis Phillips, who voluntarly puts chips into the pot for the first time with a raise to 900,000. Ylon Schwartz, not afraid of the fact that Phillips hasn't played a single hand yet, calls in position and we get our second flop.
It comes down . Phillips is first to act and bets 2.35 million. After a minute in the tank, Schwartz raises to 6 million straight, leaving himself a bit more than 7 million behind. Phillips doesn't betray any emotion regarding the raise, choosing instead to continue riffling chips, with occasional glances at Schwartz. Schwartz has his left hand on the side of his face and is staring at the felt. Apparently Phillips believes in the strength of Schwartz's hand, because he folds.
As a result of this hand, Dennis Phillips is no longer the chip leader. That title now belongs to Ivan Demidov.
Ylon Schwartz has the button in Seat 3. When action folds to Ylon Schwartz on the button, he makes it 800,000 to go. Scott Montgomery ponder his decision in the small blind, bringing a quick sidelong glance from Schwartz. Montgomery settles on a re-raise to 2,400,000. That raise sends big blind Darus Suharto's cards into the muck, bringing the action back around to Schwartz. After about twenty seconds, he announces that he is all in for a total of 11,245,000 to the murmurs of the crowd. Montgomery thinks it over for a minute before folding.
"Way to break the ice, Ylon. Atta boy!" a fan calls out from the gallery.
Craig Marquis has the button in Seat 2. Ivan Demidov raises to 775,000 and Scott Montgomery calls from the big blind. Time for the first flop of the final table and the crowd cheers in anticipation-- so loudly that they're admonished by TD Jack Effel.
The flop is . Montgomery bets 1,100,000 and Demidov gives up his hand, conceding the pot to Montgomery.
Dennis Phillips has the button in Seat 1. Everyone folds to Peter Eastgate, who opens the pot with a raise to 750,000. Nobody wants to play for that price, allowing Eastgate to take down the pot.
After ten hands of play at the final table, we are yet to see a flop. The players seem to be feeling each other out, testing with raises and the occasional re-raise. Most notably, chip leader Dennis Phillips has yet to do anything but fold.
Kelly Kim has the button in Seat 8. Everyone folds to Peter Eastgate in the small blind. His raise to 800,000 folds Dennis Phillips in the big blind and takes down the pot.
