Francisco Benitez limped in on the button. Hokyiu Lee called in the small blind and Martin Zamani made it 320,000 to go in the big blind, seeing both of his opponents call.
The flop fell K♠A♣A♥. Lee checked to Zamani, who instantly bet the pot of 1,040,000 chips. Benitez put in a call before Lee got out of the way.
Zamani announced another pot-sized bet of 3,120,000 on the 2♣ turn, and received yet another call from Benitez. On the Q♠ river, Zamani jammed all in, covering the 3,315,000 chips of Benitez.
Benitez thought it over for a couple of minutes before Zamani called the clock on him.
However, Benitez folded before his countdown had started and the massive pot was shipped to Zamani, who regained his former chip lead.
Francisco Benitez limped in from the cutoff, Martin Zamani completed his small blind and Andrew Watson checked his option in the big blind.
Zamani then led out for 120,000 on the 2♦7♠10♦ flop and Watson called. Benitez raised the pot for a bet of 800,000 chips. Zamani quickly folded but Watson stuck around and called.
The Q♦ hit the turn and Watson decided to lead for 1,500,000 chips. Benitez weighed his options for a couple of seconds but quickly opted to muck his hand and forfeit the pot.
In what was intended to be a conversation about a slew of near misses over his career, Michael Rocco flipped the script when he revealed that the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) would be his last full series for many years.
And the reason why he'll be reducing his volume at the tables may come as a bit of a shock.
Christopher Roth raised to 170,000 in the hijack. Hokyiu Lee called in the small blind and so did Martin Zamani in the big blind.
Lee then led out the pot of 590,000 on the 7♥3♦4♥ flop. Zamani quickly folded but Roth put Lee all in for 1,700,000 total. Lee quickly called as the cards hit their backs.
Hokyiu Lee: A♥J♥J♦10♦
Christopher Roth: 8♠7♦6♠5♥
Roth had flopped the nuts, but the 3♥ turn gave Lee a flush, leaving Roth drawing dead. Lee made a useless full house on the J♣ river to be awarded the double up.
Martin Zamani raised to 280,000 from late position and Tolga Demirel called in the hijack.
The flop rolled out 9♣5♣4♠ and Zamani bet 670,000. Demirel raised to 2,100,000 and Zamani repotted to put Demirel all in for 4,000,000 total and Demirel called.
Tolga Demirel: K♣K♦8♣7♥
Martin Zamani: K♠10♦9♠5♠
The board ran out A♦J♥ and the nines and fives of Zamani were good for the pot.
