"Messi" Helps Barbero Survive

Level 27 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Christoph Vogelsang shoved from the button, covering both Jesse Lonis in the small blind and Nacho Barbero in the big blind. After Lonis folded, Barbero used a few of his time extensions and was clearly agonizing over the decision. Eventually, he made the call for his 7,750,000 chips.

Nacho Barbero: KJ All in
Christoph Vogelsang: A5

The flop came QA9, giving Vogelsang top pair and leaving Barbero with just a gutshot to stay alive. Barbero asked for a "Messi", since the Argentinian soccer player Lionel Messi wears the number ten jersey. The dealer complied as the 10 came on the turn to give Barbero the nuts. An inconsequential 6 came on the river and Barbero had doubled up into the chip lead.
