Ausmus Chipping Up

Four players saw the flop of 6♦9♠3♥. The small blind checked. The player under the gun bet the pot and Jeremy Ausmus in the hijack raised pot to around 25,000 chips. The player on the button folded, as did the small blind. Under the gun had a bit more left and raised all in, which Ausmus called.

Ausmus, who is sitting at a chatty table and has been quite generous with strategy tips as of late, had the best of it with top pair, the open-ender and one backdoor flush draw. His opponent had middle pair and a double gutshot to a four or an eight.

The turn was the A♦ and the river 9♥, giving Ausmus the trips, a knockout and a pot of close to 60,000 chips.
